Weather in Cairo – Egypt. If you’re planning your trip to Cairo, it would be a great idea to choose the month when you can make the most out of this city. It’s never getting really cold here, but you definitely shouldn’t forget your sweaters, scarfs and warm coats if you’re coming here in winter or even late autumn.
Weather in cairo – egypt
The hottest months in Cairo are May, June, July, August, September and October. April is usually quite hot already too but still pretty bearable. If you’re planning your end of October trip here, make sure to take some warm clothes with you- evenings will be getting pretty chilly! One thing sure, you don’t need to worry much about rains. On average, there’re just up to ten rainy days per winter, and most of them happen to be in January. And even then we’re not talking about it raining cats and dogs! The rains are usually quite short and light.
Cairo is a big city so it might also differ from area to area, of course. While in some districts people are enjoying the sound of a thunderstorm, people in the others are left just dreaming about it. Yes, we do miss rains here! I wish we had them more often but well, some of us are quite happy about not having to take an umbrella with them every time they go out. So, what is the best time of the year to go to Cairo, Egypt? My advice would be to avoid coming here on June, July and August. July and August are usually the hottest months during which we try to stay inside and to avoid sun as much as possible. Sightseeing might get difficult too.
The Pyramids area has almost no shadow at all, stones and the sand get very hot- lots of people find it unbearable to be there during summer. On average, the coolest month is January, but the temperatures here are very comfortable in October, November, December, February and March as well. Make sure to take some warm jackets for you and your little ones if you’re coming here in the period from November to March. In winter you will see people wearing hats, scarves, gloves, winter boots and winter coats- yes, we’re not used to those 10 °C anymore! Below you will find the average monthly temperatures in Cairo. But well, those are just the average numbers- during the hottest months the temperatures can easily go up to 40-43 degrees, while during the coldest ones those numbers can be getting much lower than mentioned below.
